Before you buy
Test Centre delivery is mandatory for visas
For Australian visa purposes where English-test evidence is required, use LANGUAGECERT Academic at a Test Centre — the Online version is not accepted by DHA. For study without a visa requirement, delivery mode and score rules must be confirmed with the institution.

Routes and score requirements
Student visa (subclass 500)
Check both the current DHA visa requirement and the education provider's admission requirement. They can use different minimum scores, per-skill rules, pathway arrangements and validity periods.
Skilled Independent (189) & Skilled Nominated (190)
Confirm which DHA English category you need, then use the current LanguageCert Academic score table for every required skill. Do not convert a CEFR label into migration points without checking the official table.
Skills in Demand visa (subclass 482)
Requirements can depend on the current stream, occupation, passport, salary or labour-agreement rules. Check the active subclass guidance and any exemption before choosing a score target.
Partner visas (820 / 801, 309 / 100)
Do not assume an English test is required. Check the current stage and applicant circumstances, then use only the evidence type and score named in the official guidance.
Temporary Graduate visa (subclass 485)
Check the current DHA page for the accepted test, required overall and per-skill scores, result age and any passport exemption before booking.
Professional registration (health, teaching, engineering)
A professional regulator can use different accepted tests and score rules from DHA or a university. Confirm directly with the relevant regulator before paying for an exam.
Recognition and delivery options
Is LANGUAGECERT accepted by the Department of Home Affairs?
Yes. LANGUAGECERT Academic is listed by DHA for visa English evidence where an approved test is required. Test Centre delivery is mandatory, and the exact score depends on the visa subclass.
Can I take the test online for an Australian visa?
No. The Online version of LANGUAGECERT Academic is not accepted by DHA. You must book a Test Centre sitting.
Is it accepted by Australian universities?
Many Australian institutions publish their own accepted-test lists and score rules. Always check the institution's English page before relying on any exam for admission.
Results, test day and booking questions
How long is the result valid?
Result-age rules can differ by visa subclass, application date and institution. Check the current DHA or receiver rule before choosing a test date.
How fast do I get my result?
LanguageCert currently lists official LANGUAGECERT Academic results in about 5 working days. Allow extra time for any review, retake and application deadline.
What ID do I need on test day?
Bring the accepted identity document specified in the booking instructions and make sure the name matches exactly. Check the current test-centre ID rules before payment.
How do I submit the result?
Use the Test Report and the submission or verification method requested by DHA, the institution or the professional regulator. Follow that receiver's current instructions.
What if my score is too low?
Check the current retake terms and your application deadline before re-booking. A preparation review can help identify which skills need focused work first.
How much does the test cost?
