Purchase terms
Terms for purchases from English Language Center
These terms explain how test purchases, payments, delivery, cancellations and refunds are handled when you buy from us.
Effective 13 July 2026
1. Scope of these terms
These terms apply when a consumer buys a LanguageCert test, exam voucher or related service from English Language Center through this website, Stripe or an invoice issued by us.
A separate route is available for customers who book directly on the official LanguageCert website using our promo code. In that case the purchase is made from LanguageCert or PeopleCert, and their own checkout terms apply instead of these purchase terms.
2. Seller and contact details
- Legal seller
- TLF Group Oy
- Trading name
- English Language Center
- Address
- Vironkatu 3 D 5, Finland
- info@tlfgroup.fi
LanguageCert is a PeopleCert brand and provides the examination and official candidate systems. TLF Group Oy is the seller when the customer chooses the English Language Center direct-purchase route.
3. What a test purchase includes
The product name, exam version, delivery option and price shown in the order summary identify what is being purchased. Unless the order confirmation expressly says otherwise, payment buys the selected test or exam entitlement and our booking guidance. It does not reserve a specific exam date, test centre or time.
The candidate must still complete the official LanguageCert candidate and booking steps. Available dates, locations, delivery modes and technical requirements are controlled by LanguageCert and may vary by product and country.
4. Orders, prices and payment
Prices are shown in euros. The total payable price and any applicable tax treatment are shown at checkout or on the invoice before payment. Customers should not pay if the product, price or payment total does not match the order summary.
Online payments are processed by Stripe. Full payment card details are entered on Stripe and are not stored by this website. An online order is accepted when payment is confirmed and we issue the order confirmation.
An invoice form submission is an order request and does not take payment. We review the selected test and send an invoice, payment instructions and order summary by email. The contract is formed when the customer accepts the confirmed order and pays it, unless the written confirmation states otherwise.
5. Customer information and test selection
The customer must provide accurate contact and candidate details. The candidate name must match the identification document used for the exam. Incorrect information can delay delivery or prevent the candidate from taking the exam.
Our test checker and guidance help customers compare options, but they do not replace the requirements of a university, employer, authority or other receiving organisation. The customer should confirm the exact test, score, level, skills and delivery mode before paying. We do not guarantee exam acceptance, a pass, a particular score or any visa, admission or employment outcome.
6. Delivery and official booking
After confirmed payment and any necessary order review, we send the voucher, registration entitlement or next booking instructions to the email address supplied by the customer without undue delay. Delivery is complete when the purchased item or access information has been sent to that address, unless we agree another method.
Customers should check spam and junk folders and contact us promptly if the delivery email does not arrive. A LanguageCert account, accepted identification, compatible equipment or attendance at a test centre may be required depending on the exam.
7. Statutory cancellation right
Consumers normally have the right to cancel a distance contract within 14 days of the contract being concluded, unless a statutory exception applies. A cancellation can be submitted using our online cancellation form or by emailing info@tlfgroup.fi. The notice must clearly identify the customer and the order being cancelled.
If the customer expressly requests immediate processing or delivery during the cancellation period, the customer may have to pay a proportionate amount for work already completed. Where the law permits the cancellation right to end after a service has been fully performed or digital content has been supplied, this applies only after the legally required request, consent and acknowledgement have been given. Statutory consumer rights are not restricted by these terms.
An approved refund is returned through the original payment method where practical. Refund timing can depend on the payment provider. We may request reasonable evidence of the order and payment before processing a refund.
8. Changes, rescheduling and no-shows
Contact us immediately if the wrong test was ordered. A correction, replacement or refund may depend on whether the order has been paid, a voucher has been issued or an official exam appointment has been booked. We cannot promise that LanguageCert will allow a voucher, exam family or booked appointment to be changed.
After an official exam appointment is booked, LanguageCert's then-current candidate, rescheduling, cancellation, identification, late-arrival and no-show rules also apply. Provider fees may apply. Customers should review the applicable rules before choosing an appointment. Nothing in those provider rules removes rights that cannot legally be excluded under applicable consumer law.
9. Availability and provider changes
LanguageCert controls examination availability, candidate systems and exam delivery. If a product becomes unavailable after payment, we will offer an appropriate solution, such as a replacement where the customer agrees or a refund where required. We will not substitute a materially different test without the customer's agreement.
10. Preparation and coaching
A test purchase does not include preparation lessons unless the order summary or a separate written offer says so. Preparation services may have their own agreed lesson count, schedule and cancellation conditions. Preparation does not guarantee a pass, score or acceptance decision.
11. Problems, complaints and consumer rights
If an order is missing, incorrect or otherwise not supplied as agreed, contact info@tlfgroup.fi with the order reference and a clear description of the problem. TLF Group Oy is responsible for defects and other obligations under applicable Finnish consumer law.
Consumers should first try to resolve the matter with us. If it cannot be resolved, consumers may contact the Finnish Competition and Consumer Authority's Consumer Advisory Services and may then refer the matter to the Consumer Disputes Board. The Board generally processes complaints in Finnish or Swedish.
12. Personal data
We process order and customer information as described in our privacy policy. Stripe and LanguageCert process information under their own privacy notices when customers use their systems.
13. Applicable law and changes
These terms are governed by Finnish law. Consumers retain any mandatory protections that apply in their country of residence. If one part of these terms is unenforceable, the remaining terms continue to apply.
We may update these terms for future purchases when services, provider rules or legal requirements change. The version accepted at the time of purchase applies to that order unless a later change is required by law or is more favourable to the customer.
